We need a hero, Heretics. We need a hero who will gallop into the fray, impale the enemy with a gleaming lance, and raise our banners of rebellion once more. That hero inside of you will be forged and tempered during Saturn in Saggo Rx time, creating the perfect set of trials for you to go through that will craft you into a sturdy, viscous weapon ready for Saturn in Capricorn (on it’s way and bringing me and Helios’ Saturn returns with it!). This Saturn wants to make sure you have the bravery it is going to take to dismantle the fucking system once Saturn decides to move into Capricorn. Saturn in Saggo has attempted to enlighten us. This is the “awakening” period we have all been clamoring about. We are literally living smack dab in the middle of it, and each and every one of you is having epiphanies about your path + have been pushed and pulled toward your tribe and your true purpose. The real question, though, is if you are going to be brave enough to get through the final retrograde of Saturn in Saggo. Are you going to be a daring Knight, ready to merge your dark and light side into a complete warrior of spirit, or are you going to crumble under lack of faith in both yourself and your fellow human beings?
They have been blinding us, Heretics. They have been feeding our communities drugs, they have been looping our minds with media, they have been suppressing our issues with empty comedy and propaganda at every turn. Why? Because they know if we were to wake up there would be blood to pay. “It’s not so funny when the rabbit has the gun,” a Sagittarius friend of mine said this morning. They have been suppressing our ability to see who we really are, what we are really capable of, and have placed us in a machine with a prescribed job and no real satisfaction in sight. Why do you think escapism is such a huge issue with human beings? Because we are traumatized from living in a world where we have forgotten our path, forgotten our connection to nature, forgotten that we are also beasts of the land (which Sagittarius never forgets).
Curiously, we don’t question the new values placed before us because now we are birthed into a system outside of our natural rhythms. Fluorescent bulbs and the gleam from metal tools immediately blind us upon our entry, beginning our culturally induced schizophrenia. This eerie emotion that exists in our hearts, that keeps us from ever feeling truly at home in our existence, is the denial of our instincts. They do not fit into the axioms we are given, so we suppress them and they come out in violent, screaming ways. These are post-industrial times, and like factory farmed pigs living in sick symbiosis with our brutal masters, we are unsure if we can survive in the “cruel, cruel world” without their guidance. Who will feed us if not industry? Who will tell us who we are, instruct us what to do with our time, teach us how to love, or educate us about the world? We don’t need their fucking guidance. Their guidance is false, and goes against all of our instincts. Does your life feel “right” to you, or is their a craving deep in your soul for something more real, vaster, all encompassing? Surely living by the skin of our teeth and toiling at a job that is essentially meaningless isn’t what we have been placed on this earth to do! Why do we continuously accept the systems and pain through them? Why do we never realize that the ambiguous essence of our idea of “Truth” shows it is no longer self-evident?
What Saturn in Sagittarius is attempting to teach is that there is only one thing we should follow – and that is the divine guidance. The divine guidance is written in our very DNA and it tells us, via our instincts, that something is very fucking wrong here. It is time to refine yourself, to bring yourself to spiritual awareness and follow your path at all costs. We cannot keep getting sucked back into the loops they have created for us. We must come together – rally the troops and bring this machine down. We must build the weapons we need to set the spirits free. And then, in Saturn in Capricorn, we learn how to take down the system, brick by brick, and begin devising what is truly needed in Saturn in Aquarius.
This Saturn in Saggo transit was meant to bring a wave of enlightenment back into the masses, and we are more aware than we have ever been about the corruption that has engulfed our world. Our job during this retrograde is to figure out our own shit, work tirelessly to get on the path we know we have been avoiding at all costs (because we know how fucking hard it is), and emerge ready to give this revolution the momentum it is desperately craving. We have the fuel – it’s time to build the mechanism – and then once Saturn goes direct – to trigger that fucking mechanism and watch the fireworks as wisdom floods into the minds of the populace. Remember, people will be inspired to follow their path if you live your life like a shining beacon of hope. This is how you truly forge a revolution of spirit. This is how you set souls free – by setting yourself free, by believing in your path and having that unshakable Sagittarius spirit. Do not shy away from your duty, Heretics, for Saturn always finds a way to punish you for not doing what you are suppose to do. He is the King of Karma, after all. And, in the end, everyone always pays what they are due – don’t rack up your spiritual debt too high.

You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth of falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you. It is easy to say you believe a rope to be strong and sound as long as you are merely using it to cord a box. But suppose you had to hang by that rope over a precipice. Wouldn’t you then first discover how much you really trusted it?” – C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed

A prayer is like a mantra. You may need it through the dance these three planets perform during 2017, which I have dubbed the year of The Star (XVII). We are about to descend into a year that is packed full of retrogrades, including the dreaded Venus retrograde in Aries at the end of a cruel winter. “What do you mean, “descend,” Artemis? Didn’t we just go through the year of the Tower?” Haha yes, the tower tested our ability to destroy all of the false constructs in our life and present ourselves as we truly are so that we may begin living via our true will. But the tests surely aren’t over. The work is never over. All I can tell you is what is next, and that is going to be a test to our faith – in ourselves, in everything and everyone. Jupiter is the Queen of Cups and The Star all at once, indicating our hopeful intuitions are quite spot on. There really is something we can do. This really is our chance, but Saturn, as per usual, challenges us. Are we willing to risk everything and trust in our instincts and intuition? Are we willing to go through the pain and mental gnashing that is coming to us and still continue to trust our gut and heart? Now that The Tower has crumbled and we are sitting in the rubble of our old life, are we going to have the faith it takes to follow The Star out of the deep, dark forest ahead of us that is 2017?
It is extraordinarily difficult to trust anything again once you see things start to fall around you. The thing is, darlings, we knew all along. We knew how our life – our country – really was and didn’t trust our goddamn instincts, and that is a huge part of this Saturn in Sagittarius transit that has been bombarding us the past couple of years. We, as a species, when we feel we should collectively panic, we tell each other that we are merely over reacting. There must be a rational explanation for all of this! There must be a system we can employ to make sure that our results are better! Eh, perhaps our goal is what is truly the flawed thing, hm? We spend our whole life wrestling with the fact that we haven’t lived up to expectations that are handed to us by people who are just as broken and blind to the larger picture as we are. We have a 1 week memory about most events and then stash them back in our subconscious, so that they can morph into strange phobias later on. We all know what is going on, yet over intellectualize and destroy our instinctual knowing because we believe that no real knowledge can come from anywhere outside the intellect. Unfortunately, the intellect can be blocked as well. It can jam and bring us into paradoxical realms that are literal torture to walk through. Saturn in Saggo with Jupiter inflating him is going to challenge our ability to have faith in ourselves, our instincts, our gut reactions to things. If something feels wrong – off – out of harmony, it very likely is. If you are bombarded with chaos, do you still have faith in the bigger picture? Sometimes a plot twist is very much necessary to get you to where you really need to go.
“Step up to the fucking plate,” Saturn says. He is heavy wielding The Magician and the Ace of Swords. You have to understand the game that is being played and learn to play it yourself. You are the manifester this coming year, and you will also be responsible and judged for your manifestations. No pressure. How can you keep yourself from fucking up? Listen to your inner voice and inner child. You always try and mute this vital part of you out because the things it has to say feel so fucking ridiculous sometimes, but you always know what you truly desire. So fucking have the courage to actually act on it during this transit. If you act on dreams that have been given to you instead of your own personal vision, this transit is going to be tough as fuck for you.
You are given a chance here, and this is a rare one at that, Heretics. Uranus conj Eris right now is about to hit a second trigger point with Ceres in early 2017. Since the late spring, these two have been creating a sort of primordial soup of chaos for us. Chaos is like play-dough. At first it may seem like it everything is going to shit and we are going to die under the collapse of the Tower, BUT it is also a fucking chance.
“In chaos, there is fertility.” ― Anaïs Nin
Things are being rearranged and there are ways in now that there weren’t before. As above so below, the political sphere reflects this and so does your life. Sink or swim, folks, because Saturn is literally handing you Excalibur (Ace of Swords) and Merlin (The Magician), so now you must go forth and actually build your goddamn kingdom. The challenge is very simple. Saturn in Saggo asks, “Do you have faith in yourself and your vision?” Well, do you? Because, if you don’t, you’ll be building someone else’s empire for them in Saturn in Capricorn instead of your own.
Daddy Saturn is actually playing along quite well with Jupiter during this transit, but it will bring about a sort of spiritual zealotry. AKA get ready for all sorts of crusaders to continue popping up, now more than ever with Jupiter adding his influence to the picture. BUT this is good news as well because it’s going to light a fucking fire under the asses of all people to step up to their higher calling, and Jupiter in Libra is going to definitely help with bringing the tribe together through it’s transit (September 2016-September 2017).
Jupiter in Libra will be teaching us quite a few lessons about partnership / trust / and truth in the coming year. As Libra he asks, “How can you have trust if you do not have truth?” Jupiter in Libra demands justice – demands truth – and Saturn with the Ace of Swords while in Saggo tells me our higher vision can be obtained with this simple advice; you must be authentic. If your gut and heart are telling you something, you must be authentic to that.
But Pluto is here to tell us that none of this is going to be easy. That is, it wont be easy if you actually desire to evolve. It is easy to give up and go lie under a rock while all of this immense transformation is going on around us, but you will still have to deal with the karma of your actions. Yes, “inaction” is still action, and choosing to sit on your ass and let the world choose your destiny for you just throws you back into the torture device we call the wheel – meaning you’ll keep living out the same fucking scenarios with different faces over and fucking over again. So fuck you might as well deal with them now.
Pluto in Capricorn is far from over yet. We still have a few more years of Pluto completely overhauling government structures and the general way humans organize on large scales. A lot of the time we don’t see the forest for the trees because we are so goddamn focused on the individual instances of destruction going on around us. Pluto in Capricorn (Jupiter in general and Saturn in Saggo) all tell us to look at the big picture. With the 3 of Pentacles, Pluto tells me there is a transformational process going on right now that has been in construction for a very long time. Things are coming together whether we see them or not. This year will represent a decision for humanity – in our personal lives and as a collective. Will we rise up and fight for our collective vision, or will we succumb to the vision of the powerful minority? These are BIG planets, folks, and they deal with BIG events. Next year wont be a reprieve from this year, unless you are becoming comfortable with getting the shit kicked out of you. You’ve got to keep the hope while the chaos and destruction is brewing around us, because it is directly challenging our ability to trust in ourselves as capable human beings who can actually manifest real change in this world.
The events of 2016 will settle in everyone’s consciousness differently. People transcending their chains and realizing they don’t actually have to answer to anyone can be cause for concern just as much as it is a cause for celebration. Yes, you really do not have to answer to anyone, but here is the thing, Heretics, we are all fucking stuck here together. Like three kids crammed in the back of a sedan, we have to fucking learn how to get along. Jupiter in Libra asks, how can you manifest your hopes and dreams and also help your fellow humans as well? What is a truly just life for you in your community? What is a truly just way for you to have relationships with others? It’s going to be a fucking seesaw of a year, but we will be here to keep you guys updated along the way. Get ready to have your trust challenged, your ideas about relationships refined, and lots and lots of servings of “justice” in all of it’s flavors.

“To dare is to lose one’s footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself.” ~Søren Kierkegaard
Cards: 9 of Cups, The World, 8 of Cups, The Star
OMFG FINALLY KNOWING WHAT WE WANT AND HAVING THE DRIVE TO FUCKING GET IT. We have been hearing that some of you are actually worried about this conjunct. I’m here with some rather good fucking news, my lovelies. This is a very sexy combination (especially in Saggo where the already fiery conjunction gets stoked even higher). This is one of those “I want it and I get what I want” aspects. We are drunk off of opportunity handed to us on silver fucking platters by Saturn, and it’s not just anything – its the things you want the most being dangled from a far and Mars giving you a swift kick in the ass to go get it. And these aren’t just any simple things… These are the things that you place very high value in (Saggo). Saturn only gives us the things we need and are ready for (but he always makes us work to get it), so seize this opportunity.
All that shit we have that we thought we wanted will now get overshadowed by something sexier entering the room and giving us the eureka moment. So yeah, you are being handed your road map – your Saggo adventure guide to the things you just gotta have – and you are also being handed a tank of gasoline. So, as per usual, it’s your choice; fuel your movement toward your goals or set yourself on fucking fire because you are afraid of acting. Personally, I would muster up the courage and just do the things, because getting on Mars or Saturn’s bad side is not something I would ever recommend.
9 of Cups, the World – desires. We all know what a kinkster Saturn is, and we all know Mars has insatiable lust, so this combination is very likely to bring about an influx of sexual encounters – especially of the darker (sexier) variety. I would say, because of the position of the 9 of cups in my reading, that these things are likely to start as early as Mars entering Saggo (which happened a few days ago). We all know that Mars in Saggo equals tons and tons of stamina, so the sexual drives may get a tad bit (ok a lot) insatiable during this transit. This is fantastic, because positive sexual experiences fuel our drive, self esteem, and creativity. Don’t be too surprised if your lovers bring up darker aspects of their sexuality – asking you to play with their shadow. Please, dare to go out and play and see what you find about yourself and others, because under Saggo, the things you will learn will be of higher philosophical value to you.
It’s time to walk away. The light is here, and you finally see exactly what you need and want. Yes, both need (Saturn) and want (Mars) are going to be working together under this conjunct. Are you ready for such a thing? Sometimes knowing exactly what we want makes us ruthless jerks who are willing to cut a bitch to obtain our precious, but you’re lucky enough to have a giant influx of Virgo tsk tsking your truly cruel intentions away. It’s just the right amount of restraint (and we all know how much Saturn loves restraints), so use your dark desires to dig out the things you really want. It’s like having the perfect amount of inertia to swoop around the curve or a racetrack and pull out ahead of your rivals. It’s time to walk away from the shit that we have been pretending to want (8 of Cups) and move toward the gold. You will finally know it is there, and there will be nothing that can keep you from it (because it will be the thing worth fighting for). IF you dare, you will find your way (the Star). Now put your beast to work instead of working for your beast.

“Don’t fight forces, use them.” – R. Buckminster Fuller
Cards: The Chariot, 9 of Pentacles, 10 of Swords, The Sun
Woooooosh, here we are, in the heights. We climbed this motherfucking mountain of Karma the past few months, and here we are, proving our Will is stronger than the cycles that trap us. Well, I guess some of us. I know that the majority of you are still stuck near base camp, making up excuses why it’s so much better to be in a safe, warm camp than it is to make the arduous journey UP. Have fun down there, losers.
The Chariot. For those of you with guts who have been following the currents at play, get your barrings straight because if you fall from here it’s literally all fucking downhill. The full moons during Saturn Retrograde period should have lit a fire under your ass. Saturn teaches us restriction, hard work, limits, and all those fun little things we like to ignore and throw tantrums about. We go from a Capricorn full moon to more Capricorn inspired punishment in the form of Saturnean inertia. Remember how I told you that Saturn Retrograde period was double karma time? Aye, well, I hope you were doing your Work (Saturn’s favorite word), or Saturn will now commence in eating you alive.
Saturn, the Lord of Karma and Time, is synonymous with “Satan” (Saturn… Satan… yep). Its easy to get trapped in worry and anxiety that comes from Saturn. Sometimes, because of his punishments in the past, we get a bit traumatized and nihilistic. The thing is, those hard lessons were meant to help you learn how to actually fly and were there to smash some strongly held illusions. Saturn will take your life if you don’t listen to him. Metaphorically speaking, this is very true. If you ignore restriction and boundaries that actually exist in the world, you will die. You will hit a wall. We are trapped in Saturn’s labyrinth, with time sandwiching us on either side and the walls of restriction leading us to dead end after dead end. But there is a way out… just put your ear to the ground and listen to the wooshing winds (get fucking moving, protect your core and move move move the chariotthrough your battlefield). It’s easier from up here, at the top, looking back at the karma that has shown it’s face to us the past few months. Don’t be afraid to look at it. Don’t be afraid to recognize it for what it is. Truth hurts. Truth slices and dices, but it shows you what really is so that you may use the forces that are present to actually DO something instead of sinking in a whirlpool of Maya. Remember, a kite needs the resistance of the wind to fly.
What are your cycles? What keeps you trapped? It is merely a flick of the mental switch. Saturn retrograde taught us how to look outside of the (black) box.
A lot of the people coming to me for readings lately have been addressing the idea of changing perspectives on poisonous cycles in their lives. This is fucking fantastic because that is exactly what Saturn Retrograde period was about. Did you make decisions you usually wouldn’t have made? Did you try and excel? Did you move outside of your comfort zone and self imposed restrictions? Well, if you didn’t, you’re getting an even bigger boulder put over your cave. I guess you’ll see the light in a few years when the stars are favorable again, or you will commence with the demolition of all of your new karmic rubble (should have taken advantage of changing when it was easiest).
So here are the two directions we are moving in; either you figured out the true balance between you and the restrictions in your life (9 of pentacles) or you got scared and jumped right back into your comfortable cycles, preparing yourself for ruin once again (1o of swords). I know it’s hard as fuck to fight through the emotional attachments we have to our cycles, but if we don’t, we will never see the sun – we will never see the lightness of being that can come from detaching from things that actually have never fucking served us.
With Saturn pulling itself direct again, and Uranus going retrograde, you can expect a lot of the chaos that is about to ensue to be a part of the grand plan. It may look like pure fucking rebellious chaos – on your part or the world’s (remember, as above so below, as micro so macro) – but sometimes the world requires a bit of a shake up for you to see which walls are the real walls and which ones are mere mirrors of illusion. So shake shit up, see what stands, and use what is standing as a tool instead of something to cry about. “I look for what needs to be done. After all, that’s how the universe designs itself,” says Buckminster Fuller.

Saturn, Lord of Karma, is going retrograde. This is the first of many retrogrades to come, guys. Pretty much all of the planets will be moving backwards soon, and it’s going to feel like a spinning vortex. The sun entering Aries recently brought us back into the rulership of Martian war energy (as Mars is the ruler of the ram). And right in the beginning of all of this blood god, we have father time deciding to hit rewind. Saturn goes retrograde on March 25, which is 2 days after the full moon eclipse in Libra, and he is the first triggered event after the eclipses. Saturn moves backward from March 23 through August 13, dragging along a heavier than usual dose of karma.
The first 7 planets can be looked at as the first octave in the solar song, leaving Uranus to naturally be the blasting off into a new octave and new world entirely. The outer planets are far more concerned with all of us as a collective than they are with individual, micro issues. They are in charge of a different layer of our consciousness; the collective.
As an Aquarius, I have an intimate relationship with this old devil of a planet. You see, Aquarians have two dads, Saturn and Uranus, and they both teach very different lessons. One father has traditionally been called the great malefic (Mars is the lesser malefic). A malefic in astrology is a planet that is traditionally thought of as “miss-fortunate.” Saturn represents restriction, the constructs of reality, and hard truths. Our other father, Uranus, has been called the God of Chaos and freedom. How the hell does Aquarius justify being ruled by such different energies? The realization comes when you merge dualities in the planet Saturn. In order to blast off into freedom, one must first learn their limitations. A kite cannot fly without restriction, and freedom is what you do with what you have. Aquarius is a very individualistic sign, but somehow also represents the collective. This is because one must maintain the paradoxical idea of individuality in the collective in order for it to even work. Without a hub, there is no wheel.
And the wheel of time turns, my friends, but now in the other direction. “So, what the fuck does this retrograde mean for us, Artemis?” Ok, ok, patience! This is something we will be learning a great deal the coming 4 and a half months.
Saturn sits right on the edge of this world. As the last of it’s octave, it both defines what came before it and prepares us for a chaotic re-birthing. When Saturn goes retrograde, we turn inward and examine all of the decisions of our past. Unfinished business will emerge like crazy, and you have to take care of it now or you will not make it to the next cycle. Because the focus of mind will turn toward the past, so will the types of manifestations that happen in our life. When we focus on the patterns of the past, they emerge as new lessons in our present. What vibrational level have we been existing at? What options remain for us to choose from because of the choices we have made in the past?
Like a record, a planet spinning backward will show us the hidden message buried inside of the structure. What demonic chants have been inhabiting your subconscious? It’s time to root them out and devour them.
Saturn is relentless and he is going to test us. Grab the weapons Aries has to offer, punks, because we are officially entering this battlefield.
7 of Cups represents all of the illusions set before us; all of the paths we BELIEVE we have available to us. Mesmerized by the glowing cups before him, the man in this card can’t seem to choose between all of the options he is presented with. The secret to this card is that all of his choices are a part of the maya / illusion. Unfortunately for him (and thus you, sorry), this card being crossed by the King of Pentacles means we are going to have to have to choose the path mastery over our material realm. Represented by the heavy element of lead, Saturn is the master of the material world. He is all things solidifying. He is the ultimate meaning – the ultimate construct. The temptations before us are empty of true Saturnian meaning. Saturn is rewinding, slowing down time, and wrecking our lives to show us what we really need in order to reach our higher selves. If you fight back, he will only suffocate you further. You must act on the gnosis he brings.
The King of Pentacles is only the master of his environment because he KNOWS his environment. He knows how much yield he will need to feed his people. He knows how much material he needs to combine to construct his kingdom. He is the cerebral quality behind earth; the structure needed in order to gain mastery of the elements. Coupled with the rune Dagaz, he is telling us that this mastery wont come over night. Saturn is slow and steady, gradual like the coming of the dawn. If you don’t have a steel will, you are going to get crushed under the heavy weight of this transit.
The rune Dagaz also describes the point of melding between polarities. Forget what you believe about the good and the bad. They merge, they play, they exist only because someone put up a wall of restriction. Saturn going retrograde now puts the responsibility in our hands. Where are you going to put up your new boundaries? Check your architectural plans, but keep in mind Saturn’s karmic lesson. Wherever you decide to lay those boundaries, they will have immense repercussions in your future. Choose wisely. Be still and meditate. But also remember, in the end, Saturn is all about Capricornian action as well. You must choose to build something or you will be devoured. Once the retrograde ends and Saturn swoops back into forward drive, he will crush you if your plans are not well meditated.
The rune Dagaz, oddly enough, also looks like an hourglass – representing Father Time quite nicely. Tic toc, our time has finally come. It seems the countdown for Tower Year is finally beginning on the precipice of the equinox. There is so much balance symbolism coming at us right now; from the full moon Libra, eclipse, equinox, and now this Dagaz representation of the Saturnian retrograde.
On to the final piece of the puzzle; the rune Eihwaz. There is a fire inside all of us; a storm. Inside, we are empty, like a cup waiting to be filled. Outside our empty core is the restrictive form. As a storm progresses, the choice of it’s landing becomes ever more clear and the breadth of it’s form ever more sturdy. This is the evolution of our “self.” We are born into this world with many more options than we have at our present. Sometimes the storm may change course. This retrograde represents one of those times. You have been removed from your ability to see all the layers of your reality for far too long. You are finally going to get some elation and clarity, and you are going to be able to pick which current you want to dive into. Eihwaz represents the moment when you lose the fear of death, the scythe carrier. And who else carries a scythe and represents death itself? Saturn. For now, we have a reprieve from Papa. How will you use the creative fire inside of you to smith your future?
Saturn rules Aquarius because Aquarius knows how to navigate the various currents of humanity. He knows that no current is the end all be all structure of the world, and there are many ways for people on two different pathways to communicate. There are many arrangements of form. As the representative of the circulatory system and connecting pathways, Aquarius understands the impulse of rivers to move toward larger bodies of water. Deep down, we are all born knowing our destiny. We are all compelled to it like gravity. It is confused and muddled by the illusion we are born into; false structures that will fall away in time. You can see the rot in the world around you. Shine your light, remove the unnecessary barriers you have set that restrict you from getting to where you need to go, and get on with it before some asshole builds a dam around you and keeps you from your destiny.
